Steve McQueen’s Small Axe tells the untold and powerful stories of Britain’s West Indian community. While working on the campaign, we found out that black history isn’t considered mandatory on the national curriculum. This is something we wanted to help change.
Introducing ‘The History Lessons You Never Had’. In collaboration with BBC Teach and Steve McQueen, we turned each of his 5 films into educational resources, accessible to every teacher in the country. Along with the videos, we provided teacher notes to make it as easy as possible for these stories to be taught in classrooms
